To investigate unusual or abnormal sounds in a building, connect the AC output of the NL-42/52 to the DA-21 and record waveform data.
If the occurrence time cannot be anticipated, power the sound level meter with the AC adapter and use the trigger recording function of the DA-21.
Input the recorded waveform data to an FFT analyzer and perform frequency analysis. Use overall evaluation of data characteristics, occurrence timing, and other factors to determine the sound source.
The waveform analysis software AS-70, waveform analysis software CAT-WAVE can also be used for re-analysis (FFT, octave band analysis etc.) of waveform data.
