• EXAMPLE 1
  • EXAMPLE 2

At the external walls of the building in its normal state, perform measurement in six bands, with octave band center frequencies from 125 Hz to 4 kHz.
Position microphones at five points each on the outside and the inside. The five external microphone positions should be located at 1 meter from the external wall surface and distributed evenly. The five internal microphone positions should be located at least 0.5 meters from the internal wall surface and distributed evenly.
Position a loudspeaker at a distance of at least twice the maximum edge length of the measurement target, and generate intermittent octave band noise. Perform measurement with "F" time weighting characteristics.
After obtaining measurement values, determine the level difference between the averaged external and internal sound pressure levels.

Supported Technical Standard / Law / Regulation
●ISO 140-4:1998 Acoustics -- Measurement of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements -- Part 4: Field measurements of airborne sound insulation between rooms
●ISO 717-1:2013 Acoustics -- Rating of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements -- Part 1: Airborne sound insulation
