- EXAMPLE 1
-
A level recorder uses the signal from a connected sound level meter or vibration level meter and transcribes time-based changes in sound pressure level or vibration level onto a paper medium, using a moving pen.
The output of the sound level meter or vibration level meter is supplied as an AC signal. Using the selected time weighting characteristics, this signal is converted into a sound pressure level or vibration level amplitude which is written by a pen on recording paper moving at a preset constant speed.
This allows recording changes in sound pressure level or vibration level in real time on site at the measurement location.
If a special sound or vibration event occurs, the operator can also directly make a note on the recording paper.
This is very convenient for example to demonstrate or explain the results of sound pressure level or vibration level measurements right at the measurement location.
